Air Filter Reviews

There are air filters that battle against indoor allergens such as dust smoke, odor, gas and mould with filtration. The air filter's technology cleans the air in the room with top efficiency and speed. Some are expensive, but are worth the money if you need a high-end air filter.

There are some filters available that decontaminate air up to 50% more than compared to other less expensive brands. They offer excellent filtration efficiency and also filter change indicators. Though many claim that they have a long lasting filter life, many do not have increased air delivery or lower noise levels. Some have pre gas filters with excellent filtration -- 3 filters and excellent carbon quality. The finer the filter, the smaller the particles it traps. High efficiency particulate arresting filters are the best. They can capture 99 percent of all particles, down to 0.3 microns in size.

Gas molecules are extremely small and can pass through a hepa filter. An activated carbon or charcoal filter usually is added to trap gas molecules. Pleated media filters are more efficient than the standard fiber filter, but not as effective as electrostatic filter. The media filter is more expensive than the common furnace filter, and requires comparatively more energy. It needs to be replaced regularly. It will work for a longer time if a regular furnace filter is installed in front of the pleated media filter. An electric or electrostatic filter can be used to replace a standard furnace filter. An electrostatic filter when installed in the return air duct near the furnace, removes fine particles from the air. The dust collecting plate will have to be cleaned regularly.
