Sony PS3
...Sation that is making waves now.The official unveiling of the Sony PS3 to the public was held on May 16, 2005, during the E3 2005 conference. A functional version of the system was not present there, as a working system was not readily available due to power failures and hardware problem. On September 6, 2006, Sony declared the delay of the launch of the PlayStation 3 until March 2007 due to a shortage of diodes used in the Blu-ray Disc drive. Later, the release of the PlayStation 3 in Japan was held on November 11, 2006. The PS3 from Sony created a record by making a sale of approximately 600,000 units in its first two days of launch in Europe, Aus...more
Video Gaming Technology Takes Strides Forward
...ese two devices accomplishes this are a little bit different though. That's because the Xbox 360's ability to play high def DVD's comes from an optional HD-DVD drive that can be attached to the unit via cable, and the Play Station 3 comes with a Blu-ray drive installed.
The fact that these two devices play different High Def DVD's has brought them right into the middle of a format war between Blu-ray and HD-DVD. Both formats essentially accomplish the same thing (although there are technical reasons why Blu-ray may be superior), but can't be played on each other's players and disc drives. How The Games Of Today Give Us A Glimpse Of Future Gaming Technology
...I think games in the future will be even more realistic then the games we already have with our Xbox 360s and Play Station 3s. microsoft and Sony will more than likely come out with something even more insane like a virtual game or something and that would be the game of the century. To have a virtual game that you put on but still used an Xbox or Play Station and you played shooting games like you play online today. I think that would be the best game to come out ever.
If you just thought about what we have now and just think about we will have in the future you should be amazed because with graphics and games getting so m...more
Will You Die If You Don't Buy The New X-box 360 Gaming System Today?
...Ok, so my kid is driving me absolutely nuts about the new Xbox 360 gaming console from microsoft, which of course, is all the rage now. Dad, "I've got to have it!", he says. "My old crappy Xbox system, my GameCube, my Playstation 2, and all 47 versions of my Nintendo GameBoy are terrible! The graphics are so bad I feel like I'm watching non-HDTV! All of my friends have the new Xbox 360 game! The 360's graphics are killer, like nothing you've ever seen before! If I don't get one then everyone is going to make fun of me and I'm going to die!"
Get the picture? Ok, so we may have made a mistake somewhere around the twenty-third gaming console purchase. Maybe we, as parents, have encouraged such behavior. Nah, I don't know what I was thinking. Anyway, as luck would have it, I too, am a sucker for the latest craze in high tech video games, and yes, I was that guy sitting in the nice, comfy, black leather recliner positioned directly in the center of the Best Buy showroom the day the first, and extremely short-lived, stock of the graphically phenomenal Xbox 360 game systems arrived! Plus, I certainly don't ...more
